Our Vision

Today we started to discuss the Vision we have for CLVEC of the future. Among the themes suggested (which I have attempted to summarise) were
  • A Client/customer focused organisation with user-friendly technologies
  • An organisation promoting positive attitudes and developing real fit-for-purpose skills
  • Increased access to our services (Remote access to schools/services)
  • First class tracking and support
  • Moving to more blended learning (learners self-managing their own learning)
  • An organisation ready for the needs of all our learners

There is also a real challenge - to deliver on our vision within a very formal structure particularly at second and Further Education level.

Hopefully the above captures the main thoughts we had today - Let me know what I have missed or if you have any further thoughts ?

Background Reading

Putting together a short list of some useful documents relevant to our work - I will edit this piece later to add more - Please let me know of sites or documents you recommend by commenting. I have also embedded below an excellent Slide show produced by Suzie Vesper outlining the essential elements of an effective ICT Planning Process.

Welcome

Welcome to CLVEC ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Planning Blog. This Blog has been created in order to support engagement in the process of ICT planning for City of Limerick VEC. Numerous studies have shown that good plans must be owned by those who may have a role in its delivery and review and must be developed in consensus with collaborative effort. This blog will be one tool to help us work collaboratively to develop the Plan. We welcome all posts/comments as we seek to develop this plan which we hope will help us to effectively use new and emerging technologies for the benefit of our learners, our staff and all our stakeholders.
